
Jeff Nelson was appointed by Governor Greg Abbott as DWC workers’ compensation commissioner on August 9, 2022, reappointed for a two-year term in February 2023, and confirmed in March 2023.

Erica De La Cruz was named deputy commissioner of claims and customer services. In this role, she oversees claims services, self-insurance regulation, and the subsequent injury fund.

Mary Landrum was named the deputy commissioner for health and safety. As deputy commissioner, she oversees the Office of the Medical Advisor, healthcare business management, medical fee dispute resolution, workplace safety, and return to work programs. Mary will also continue to oversee the operations, training, and certifications for the Designated Doctor program.

Tammy Campion was named the deputy commissioner for business process, overseeing the daily operations of various programs, including enterprise automation services, information management services, and business process services. Tammy’s role also includes managing DWC’s technology modernization efforts, electronic data interchange (EDI) processes, system data, and electronic records management.

Kate Sidora was named DWC’s director of external and media relations. In this role, she manages DWC’s government relations, legislative activities, and stakeholder outreach.
